The Ultimate Debate: Is Obama more like Stalin or Hitler?

Reader John Bear wrote an interesting comment in response to my article yesterday, “Obama! Thou art dearer to us than anything in the world.” It read, in part:
The comparison between Stalin and Second Hussein (Obama) was interesting. But Second Hussein compares better with Hitler. Remember, Hitler took a Christian, Democratic, highly cultured, highly technological nation and destroyed it, piece by piece. Second Hussein is doing the same thing to Rainbowland (USA).
I would imagine that a lot of readers picked up on Mr. Bear’s thought that Barack Obama is much more like Adolf Hitler than Josef Stalin. In fact, I actually had included a comparison to Hitler in an earlier draft of the article, but decided to remove it so as not to cloud my main point — that BHO, like Stalin, has successfully portrayed himself (thanks to the backing of the corrupt, left-wing media) as someone who is 180 degrees removed from the real Barack Obama.
The Duplicitous Despot has been described by his lying band of cheerleaders as gracious, kind, sensitive, compassionate, thoughtful, a uniter, and more. But the truth is that he is rude, mean-spirited, insensitive, uncompassionate, uncaring, and, by far and away, the most divisive president in American history. (Apologies to O’Reilly for “disrespecting the office of the presidency.”)
So, yes, Obama is very much like Stalin in how he has managed to convince millions of people that he is the exact opposite of the person they perceive him to be. But, no question about it, his basic personality is much more like Hitler’s.
In this regard, in an article last July titled “The Debt-Ceiling Diversion,” I wrote:
Of all the dictators over the past hundred years, I believe Obama’s rise to power mirrors that of Adolf Hitler’s more than anyone else. I know, I know … I can practically hear readers chuckling. Enslaved people throughout history have a propensity for chuckling — until they wake up one morning and find themselves in chains. So, by all means, feel free to chuckle — but do hear me out.
Though most people don’t realize it, Hitler was legitimately chosen to be chancellor of Germany in 1933 by President Paul von Hindenburg. At his swearing in ceremony, Hitler faithfully repeated the oath of office: “I will employ my strength for the welfare of the German people, protect the Constitution and laws of the German people, conscientiously discharge the duties imposed on me, and conduct my affairs of office impartially and with justice to everyone.”
Nice words … similar to those uttered by Obama when being sworn into office. Hitler was a charming, eloquent speaker who carried on incessantly about change. (Sound familiar?) Then, once elected, he moved quickly to establish a dictatorship — accomplishing that seemingly impossible feat in fifty-two days. Obama moved swiftly as well, but opposing forces in America made it impractical to establish a quick dictatorship.
The upstart Nazi Party (which was the commonly used name for the National Socialist German Workers’ Party … repeat, Socialist) staged a slobbering love affair between Hitler and the German people. (Sound familiar?) When Hitler spoke for the first time as chancellor, it was said that “he was greeted with an outpouring of worshipful adulation unlike anything ever seen before in Germany.” (Sound familiar?)
Psst … I think we may have a bit of a problem on our hands when the debate is over whether the president is more like Stalin or more like Hitler. Or perhaps it’s just a small group of hate-mongering Tea Party racists trying to denigrate the man who compares himself more to Abraham Lincoln.
With that thought in mind, can we at least agree that modesty is not Che Prez’s strongest trait?

Hitler took country with 30 percent unemployment rate and in two years the unemployment rate was 0.04 percent. What has Obama
done in over three years?
roosevelt & cabal did something similar by contriving to get amerika into the war. so? what do you suppose the unemployment rate was in the old ussr, or in north korea, today? full mobilization means full employment via command/control…the opposite of liberty, the ostensible american ideal (which is why it's spelled amerikan: security, not liberty)…….

legitimate means legal, which can, & does, mean absolutely anything. legal is ritual, not lawful. or correct. or right. and sworn oaths are just as much ritual, incantation. bo is merely one of the latest, in a procession that starts at the founding, of oath abrogators. yet people continue to be mesmerized by oaths.
"i got the conch." famous last words. but the oaths & rituals, & incantations, & mesmerization goes on forever & ever, amen……
btw, if the bleakest prognostications re 4 more years of bo come to pass, the comparison to lincoln will be most apt. how in the world could anyone, at this late date, continue to subsidize the notion that lincoln was anything but a tyrant?
I think the jury is still out on this comparison. We'll have to wait until our economy completely collapses and martial law is declared. Stalin had the highest death camp score, eclipsing Hitler by over 10 mil. This can still go either way.
There's was an excellent article in Salon the other day by a guy on why he quit the Republican party because he could no longer stomach the far right's idiotic, slanderous, name calling and out right lies.. you should read it…
Yes David, I already quit my role as a worker bee in the Republican Party, in '05 to be exact. I quit due to the GOP leadership's total complicity in our nation's drift into authoritarianism.
There is no difference between the Parties, they both support the nation's explosion of prison construction. We are building privately owned prisons that are presently empty. We could easily release the non-violent drug offenders and cut the prison population in half. Ever wonder why we're instead stockpiling even more cells?
Americans don't think much.
If the Constitution of the United States was ever the law of the land; we are living in a state of complete lawlessness. The Republican opposition are not objecting to this lawlessness at all, save for Ron Paul.
Therefore; it is evident that our nation has already experienced a coup; it is a done deal, we've been taken over. Eventually, whether the front man is Obama or Romney, the oligarchs will get around to getting rid of those they don't like. Stalin did the same.

Yes, maybe. We can agree the coup has occurred, only the date is in doubt. Our Constitution could possibly have been a map to where we find ourselves today. One of my son's is familiar with North's thoughts on it and he agrees. I haven't read the book yet.
Nonetheless, a step back into governmental respect of the Bill of Rights and Constitutional (limited) government, would be a step in the right direction; that's why I am a Paul supporter.. Sadly, considering how far Americans are behind the real news, ain't likely to happen.
novi, it's an essay, quick read, at site mentioned. but think about the idea of 'just heading/getting back to the con-stitution'…if it was a coup, why would that be a goal? doesn't make sense. that would merely be a desire to rewind the incrementalism that eventuates in today, not a desire to solve the problem. it's "groundhog day" without the happy ending….

The German people were ripe for a man such as Hitler to take the reigns of power.The resentment of the Versailles treaty was a sore issue as was the loathsome economy. The German people was wanting some payback for their suffering.Along comes Hitler and the rest was tragic. America does not compare in their suffering. If anything,, America has become fat, stupid and lazy and will have to pay for their ignorance. Sorry, present company excluded of course.
You flatter the O-hole too much. He is not a thinker and not a doer. Affirmative action has been very very good to him. One should study the men behind the curtain. O-hole is an announcer. He reads scripts, plays golf, and eats. He has no original thoughts and has no plans. He is riding the affirmative tidal wave until it crashes on America like the Apocalypse. He thinks he is Ronald Reagan because he believes the Gipper was just a speech maker. Therein lies his ignorance and stupidity.

The more I read about the character of the Big Ass-O, the more I'm convinced he's a psycopath. In the bitter end, it doesn't matter, really, whether the Big A-O is Stalinistic or Hitlerish in his behavior or character. What matters is what's going to happen in the nation, soon. And, if/when the majority of the people are poor (powerless), then that makes it all the more easy for the hyena to stike us down. We can debate the situation 'til we're blue in the face, but, in the end, power will win the day. Make sure to keep your powder dry, people.

you're even more right than you may know, i'd say: 'the system' we've all been indoctrinated to believe is linked to mom & apple pie rewards socio/psyco pathology……meet the new ones, same as the old ones….
Obama actually compares very well to the *true* Lincoln, not the Lincoln of historical fantasies:
* Both are eloquent speakers.
* Both have bland career as Illinois state senators.
* Both have contempt for the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
* Both are willing to destroy our country to carry out their plan to grossly expand the powers of the Federal Government.
* Both love to tax and spend – Lincoln taxed the Southern states so badly they left the Union and *legally* formed the Confederate States of America. Lincoln wanted the money from the taxation/tariffs (the Southern states supplied ~70% of the government's income) to keep giving pork contracts to his cronies in the North. Obama loves to "tax the evil rich" so he can increase the number of people dependent on the government for their income and therefore will vote for whoever gives them the most "entitlements".
* Both are willing to declare war – either overtly (Lincoln) or subtly (Obama) – on a significant portion of the country to get their agenda made into law: Lincoln wanted the Confederate states back in the Union and to impose Federal powers over all states while Obama wants all conservatives and Christians to be silenced.
* Both are willing to violate basic laws regarding actions; Lincoln violated every aspect of the Geneva convention in his dirty little war, and Obama violates the Constitution & BoR constnantly.
We can defeat Obama in November, but will we? And what iis the option? Will we elect Ron Paul?
During the 2008 campaign I caught on to the methods of Obama and saw the Hitler resemblance. Why was that possible?
I can read. Too many of the voters today will only "listen" to the news. They are either unwilling or unable to read and do research. The media supported Obama and feed the lazy members of our society exactly what they wanted to hear.
Those of us who are able to read and understand what is really true, needs to share our insights with others. Maybe then, they will also wake up and make the right choice in November.
